Fundraising Activities


The Cochrane Skating Club is a non-profit organization.  In order to help keep the costs of programs as low as possible for all families, the club conducts various fundraising activities in a given year. 

The club requires a fundraising bond of $200 per STARSkate skater for the season to be paid upon registration at the beginning of a season.  This bond does not apply to Advanced CanSkate however these members are encouraged to support the club's fundraising through active participation in fundraising activities. 

The fundraising activities for the 2019-2020 season were announced at the parent meeting September 10, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. (Cochrane Arena upstairs). All STARSkate members were asked to attend this mandatory meeting.  All members in attendance received 1/2 hour of time toward your volunteer commitments for the season for attending this meeting. 

Skaters who raise more than the $200 bond will receive the additional funds into their skater accounts which can be used toward future program registrations, test day fees or other open invoice amounts throughout the season.   


This fundraiser is kicking off on Monday, January 27, 2020 and will end on February 17, 2020. Orders will be delivered around Tuesday, February 25th. 

For this fundraiser we are utilizing the Teamfund website for all orders and processing.

In three easy steps you will have your own personal selling page and can invite friends and family to shop. 

Important Note to Sellers:  When you register as a seller you receive your own personal page to invite supporters to.

  2. Ensure that you add your skater's name to your profile.  
  3. Now that you have a personal page, invite friends and family to shop! 

All funds raised by you ($15 per box) will be credited to your skater's account.

West Jet Raffle

Each Advanced CanSkate and STARSkate family will be provided with 40 raffle tickets. These tickets are to be sold at $5 each. For every additional 20 tickets sold, beyond the first set of 40 tickets, one hour volunteer time will be put toward your volunteer hours. 

Please ensure that you keep track of your tickets and all monies collected. All monies, plus any unsold tickets, will need to be returned to Bre during the week of March 16th.  The draw is on March 24th. All tickets (sold and unsold) MUST be accounted for by the draw date. 

This is a general club fundraiser and all funds will go directly to the club, not individual skater accounts.

Casinos are an essential fundraiser for our club and without these funds the club would not be able to operate. The club participates in a casino approximately every three years and the money received from the casino is split into thirds and used as revenue for the following three years.
